The “Locum Tenens” or temporary physician staffing industry was founded in 1979 by Therus Kolff, M.D., MPH. With the expertise and consultation of pioneer, Dr. Therus Kolff, Locum Physicians, LLC expanded its operations in Atlanta, Georgia in 2013. Currently, LP’s leadership team consists of physicians, attorneys, hospital administrators and human resources executives with 30+ years of industry experience including healthcare service delivery, public health policy and administration, staffing and recruitment. While Locum Physicians began with a primary focus of psychiatry and behavioral health, the Company has grown rapidly since its inception to include a variety of specialties, mid-level and allied health practitioners, serving healthcare facilities and practitioners throughout the United States and abroad. Currently, Locum Physicians is a member of the prestigious National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO), an organization that develops and enforces standards for credentialing, ethics, and business practices within the locum tenens industry.
